{Nails.Nails.Nails.}

Sorry for the lack of updates.
I've been busy with my University classes and I haven't been able to make anything new.
Like I said before, I enjoy painting my nails a lot, but lately I've been having no inspiration at all so I went through my Nails folder and find all my past nails design that I would like to share with all of you:

Melissa {incomplete}

Name, name, name.
This is my first typography homework. I've always like this kind of cut out feel you get when you don't fill the letters correctly. I needed to express with a font one of my qualities. In this case I chose creative, friendly and happy. The work in process:

{My helvetica poster}

I've always wanted to try something like this.
There is something about typography that I love. I really like simple, clean, minimalist looks in design but I never pulled it out the right way so yesterday I started playing around and browsing a lot of typography posters and decided to try something with Helvetica.
I couldn't decide whether to make the background blue or green so I pair them up to compare them. Helvetica might be overused this days but I think it is one of the most clean fonts I've ever come around. I think I'm going to print this out to make a poster or something. Not sure at the moment.

{12.51}

I should just name this blog Shicake makes The Strokes stuff...
But not really.
This is actually an idea I have for a future t shirt and mini poster. I was lacking in ideas and I had bare nails so I decided to try it. The photo is not really good cause I painted the 12:51 in the wrong way... Final Piece:
Materials:
  • Nail Polish {Black}
  • Acrylics.
  • Top Coat.

{New York City Cops... They ain't too smart}

Mooore The Strokes!
This is a song I absolutely love and, since I'm in the typography poster phase, I decided to make one out of this song. After not finding a decent sketchbook {since I want a Moleskine and they don't sell them here} I "made" one. I just stashed some cards in an old photo album.
After sketching down my idea I tried different fonts and my friend helped me pick the one he liked the best. At some point I thought I was going to run out of gold paint but, thanks God, I didn't:
Surprisingly, I do like the way this turned out, well... sort of. This is my third The Strokes "mini poster" I made. Final Piece:

  • Acrylics.
