{Dork}

I really need to keep practicing drawing faces.
I started this drawing at 02.00 {a lot of things happen at 02.00 when it comes to the stuff I made} out of boredom. Not really happy with the hair {or the drawing in general} P.S.: I hate drawing hair. Oh and it has a little video of the process of drawing one of the eyes. {The photos are horrible though. Sorry about that}

Materials:
  • Ingres paper
  • Mechanical Pencil {I believe it's HB}
  • Pastels {White}
  • Watercolors {Red}

{French Proverb}

"Hope is the dream of a man awake"
I made this watercolor background months ago but I didn't know what to do with it. Last night {around 02.00} I decided to make a typography "inspirational" poster. I started searching for some quotes and I end up reading this one "Hope is the dream of a man awake" I really liked it so I made this:

Materials:
  • Canson Watercolor Paper
  • Watercolors
  • Acrylic Paint {White}

{Tooth Fairy}

Not exactly tooth fairy but let's get to the point.
I saw a photo of a necklace somewhere an it had tooth as pendants and I loved it. Problem was, as always, the photo had no reference so no necklace for me. I try to make my own tooth necklace and this what I got {not sure if painting them silver was a good idea though}:

As a bonus, I made a pair of earrings and I kind of prefer the earrings instead of the pendant but I'm keeping them both:

Materials:
  • Air dry clay
  • Wire
  • Earring loop
  • Silver spray paint

{Water bulb}

What do you do with your light bulbs?
Sure you could {a} use them if they are new, {b} throw them away once they stop working, or {c} you could make something with them!
I refuse to throw anything away unless I'm 100% sure I'm not doing something with it, I made a water bulb. What is exactly a water bulb? a hollowed out light bulb {incandescent ones, not fluorescent. NEVER fluorescent} full of water.

I've been into moss lately {since I finally bought some} and I add moss on everything! This time the base of the bulb was the moss victim.

I need to find what I'll put on the water, maybe a plastic frog or something... I don't know. Till then mateys.

Materials:
  • Light Bulb
  • Air Dry Clay {for the base}
  • Water
  • Glue Gun
  • Moss

{La Pulpería}

What is @LaPulperiaSDQ ?
La Pulpería is a brand new little store. A store where every little detail counts and has a story.

Thanks to an early rise today {thanks to a little friend of mine} we headed to La Pulpería. If you know me you must know I love little shops. Cozy, little shops... SO my friends and I started looking at some stuff.

One thing that caught my attention was the fact that everything had this little card telling the story behind some of the articles on sale or some of the decoration.

The stationary... Asian stationary! I mean come on, best thing in the world.

Apart from stationary, you can get reusable bags and t shirts.

And of course, books and DVDs

I'm going back this afternoon to buy a book I saw and NEED to have and maybe buy a little thing or two.
P.S.: At La Pulpería, Catulito greets you so be nice.

{Shoe ringin'}

Oh titles, I hate you.
I needed a place to put my {not so large collections of} rings. While searching for D.I.Y.s, I saw a photo of a show with rings or something like that and I came up with this. Didn't turn out as I expected since the termination is not the best but hey, at least I have a place to put my rings now {the photo is not the best. Today is not my day...} :

Materials:
  • Old heel
  • Studs
  • Fabric leftovers
  • Glue gun
  • Scissors

{Shorts Shorts Shorts Shorts Shorts Shorts}

Shorts, Shorts, Shorts!
I've been wanting some shorts for a while, but not just any shorts: ripped, studded shorts. The problem is I never seem to find them anywhere and if I did they where {a} Too expensive or {b} sold online. While cleaning my closet the other day, I found a pair of old capris I haven't used in forever. After some meditating last night I got the nerve to cut them and started making my own cuffed, studded shorts. {P.S.: My foot is in the way D: }

They were really easy to make. I might as well start making my own clothes whenever I can't find what I want {at least cut some pants to make shorts since I can't really make clothes hence my lack of sewing abilities}. Short up! {heh HIMYM... ok I'll stop now}:

Materials:
  • Old capris jeans
  • Scissors
  • Cutter
  • Studs
  • Sandpaper
  • Safety pins

{Jewelry Display}

Yay!
Never throw away anything. At least that's what I do {which ends up being a pain for my room but whatever}. End up with my hands on an old picture frame but it was white and I didn't want it white so here is what happened, got some black paint, some hooks and leftover Jute fabric:

And now I have a simple yet handy jewelry display for my not so large jewelry collection.

Forgot to add, Leslie and I were making some Hama beads pendants and such and I end up making a keychain for my keys:

Materials:
  • Old Frame
  • Black Paint
  • Hooks
  • Jute Fabric
  • Wire
  • Hama Beads {Keychain}

{Heineken Caps}

Bottle caps that is.
I always keep bottle caps {as well as cans, but that's another story} and never do a single thing with them. Yesterday I grabbed two of the best looking ones, made holes and add a earring thing.
New earrings for me!

Materials:

  • Bottle Caps.
  • Wire.
  • Earring loop.

Nothing to do on a Saturday night.
Doodling with tablet is fun. Doodling and animating the doodles is better!

{Starry Night}

Such a long time since I last did something in my nails.
Being van Gogh one of my favorite or my favorite painter, why not try one of his work on my nails?
Starry Night was it.

Took me a lot of time to get the swirls done and for them to look decent:

Materials:
  • Navy blue polish.
  • Black polish.
  • Top coat.
  • White, yellow, light blue acrylic paint.

{Cigarettes. Cigarettes.}

...but I do not smoke.
Ever since I saw a photo of a painted cigarette eons ago I have this weird fascination with them as a painting/drawing media. The only problem being: I do not smoke therefor I couldn't get my hands on a package up until yesterday. I got them for free which is a plus since I was not going to buy a package just to paint on them and then just find somebody who will want them. I got a small package and started doodling in them.

I just need to find somebody who will be willing to light one of them to see how the colors burn! no, I will not let people smoke them, I just want to burn them. And to see what happens since I painted them with Sharpie®

Materials:
  • Cigarettes.
  • Sharpie® markers.

{26ª Bienal Nacional de Artes Visuales}

Last Sunday I visited the Museo de Arte Moderno {MAM} with my classmates and my teacher for the 26 Bienal Nacional de Artes Visuales. Since I forgot my camera I had to go back on Thursday. A Bienal it's basically a contest in which several Dominican artist or international artist with more than 5 years living in the country present their works in the museum { I did not explain that right but you get the general idea}. I had the opportunity to see a lot of amazing works from very talented artist:

Persio Checo "Mis parientes más cercanos"
Samuel Priego “Comercial desde 1492”
Moíses Pellerano "Rape?"
Charo Oquet "En un abrir y cerrar de ojos"
Aquiles Azar Billini "Colada"
I'm looking forward to visit the museum more often. Didn't spent the amount of time I was hoping for cause I was visiting it with a friend and we needed to go after I took the photos I needed.
